Challenge:

Ron Ben Israel, named The “King of Cakes” by Modern Bride Magazine, wanted to redesign his website to differentiate himself from his competitors. He sought an online experience that engaged users by showcasing the intrinsic details of his work in a manner that was elegant and refined.

Eight's Approach:

Eight’s strategy was to brand Ron Ben Israel as New York’s premier cake baker through a new website by combining photography, web design and programming in an environment where the details of his cakes are fully appreciated. The flash-based site is inviting to visitors, who get to know Ron and his staff and see the skill and work involved with each of his pieces. Additionally, a social media strategy on Facebook was implemented, presenting the client with an additional stage where he can interact with his fans and promote his latest work.

Result:

10 months and 18,000 Facebook likes after the launch his new website, Ron Ben Israel signed a deal with the Food Network to film a pastry challenge competition called Sweet Genius. The show is expanding Ron’s brand awareness while maintaining the identity and strategy displayed on his website.
